If the built-in Start button available in Windows 8.1 doesn’t come in handy and you’re still looking for a fully-featured Start Menu, this app could be the right choice.

Start Menu X 5.0 has just been released with enhanced Windows 8.1 support, which means that the app should now work flawlessly on Microsoft’s new OS version.

Start Menu X can now use the built-in Start button in Windows 8.1 for its own menu, thus making the whole transition to a third-party app even easier.

The application also integrates several other fixes and performance improvements, so expect fewer crashes and bugs to be spotted after deploying the new version.

Of course, it can be installed on Windows 8 too, so just download Start Menu X 5.0 regardless of whether you are running the 32- or the 64-bit version of Microsoft’s modern platform.
