Lax

Instant messaging clients and their corresponding users are still going strong, despite the powerful rise in social media messaging platforms that has been occurring in the last years. Relying on IRC clients for daily chats is still preferred by countless amounts of users, due to the reliability and simplicity of such software.

Built using Electron and React, Lax was designed specifically in order to offer users a centralized platform for performing their chat, by connecting to a wide range of platforms that provide IRC clients.

Users will be able to register several credential sets, and corresponding connections and the application allows them to have multiple active connections simultaneously. When adding new login details, if previous credentials are required instead, one can opt to select them, as the application will automatically remember past credentials.

Having added their preferred server, login details, and corresponding nickname, the application will allow users to join their channels automatically, without having to search for them manually. Desktop notifications are also provided, in order to let users know about the latest messages from their selected channels.

Last but not least, the application offers users customization through two main interface modes, one light, and one dark.
