Web Log Suite Professional Edition

Web Log Suite Professional Edition is a lightweight software application developed for helping you analyze large logs. It lets you generate comprehensive reports and get information about activity statistics, referring pages, search engines, errors, visitors’ country, and other details.

You can either run the program via its GUI or control it from the command-line console. Although it comes packed with lots of configuration settings, the user interface reveals a well-structured design. A detailed help manual is included in the package in case you need further assistance with the dedicated parameters.

The program offers support for a wide range of log formats, such as Apache Extended, Apache Common, Microsoft IIS W3C Extended, Microsoft IIS NCSA Common, Microsoft IIS, Netscape Web Server, WebSTAR Common Log, NCSA Common, Adobe Flash Media Server, Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway 2010, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server, Novell iChain Web Security Services, Netscape Proxy, and CCProxy.

Web Log Suite Professional Edition is able to automatically recognize log file formats, extract compressed log items (e.g. BZIP2, GZIP, ZIP, 7z, RAR, LZH, LZMA, JAR, XAR), process multiple logs simultaneously, as well as grab log files from different sources (e.g. web, FTP, ODBC).

HTML reports can be generated containing detailed information about all sorts of stats, such as summary, access (e.g. pages, files, entry points, folders, file types, virtual domains), visitor (e.g. hosts, visitors, countries, continents, users), referrer (e.g. referring sites, search engines, search phrases, search keywords, top level domains), user agent (e.g. operating systems, browsers), activity (reports can be created weekly, monthly, or yearly), errors, as well as tracked files. Reports can be saved to CSV file format as well, and exported in different languages.

You are allowed to work with several filters for data mining purposes, such as host/IP, page/file, top level domain, country, browser, user, and operating system. Last but not least, the application adds on the feature list support for automatic detection of spiders/robots, reports sent via email or uploaded via FTP connections, customizable date and time format, multithreaded DNS lookup, and cache logging for downloaded log files.

Web Log Suite Professional Edition comes bundled with several smart and handy functions, and can be called a reliable and powerful log analyzer. You should know there’s also a Standard version of the program, called Web Log Suite Standard Edition, but it does not come with support for built-in scheduler, city and region reports, marketing report, and log file storage options.
