If you're the type of PC user that puts price on simplicity above all else and if you're on the market for a new application for listening to music, you can take a look at Music Player, whose name is clearly an indicator of its approach toward ease of use.

Designed with the Electron framework, the app is not only available for Windows but also for Linux. It's free and open-source, which means that you can take a look and even modify its code to integrate it into your own projects. For those interested, Music Player uses Node for the backend, Angularjs and Bootstrap for the frontend, Express for routing, and Howler for audio playback.

To get started, it's necessary to indicate a folder whose containing audio tracks you want to play. The directory can have files of any format since only the ones detected by Music Player will be taken into account (mp3, opus, ogg, wav, aac, m4a and webm).

A playlist is automatically put together using all tracks from the specified folder, and you can access it as well as select any song to listen to by clicking the menu button on the bottom-left side.

Only typical audio control commands are available, like pause and resume, play the next or previous track in the list, seek a position within the current track, or adjust the volume level. ID3 tags are detected and loaded in the main window, which include the artist and album art if these exist.
