Sharp Tune

You don't have to get the most feature-rich application out there to be able to enjoy your favorite music, especially if you don't plan on performing tasks like editing tags, renaming files, organizing a song collection, and so on.

In fact, most users prefer a simple and straightforward music player. Besides the fact that it should be intuitive, it should also run on minimal system resources, thus allowing you to work with other programs while your songs are playing in the background.

Sharp Tune is a lightweight and cross-platform audio player that puts emphasis on simplicity. Developed with the Electron framework, the tool is free and open-source, available not only for Windows but also for Linux users.

Installing the utility shouldn't be an issue since the setup procedure follows standard steps. As far as the interface is concerned, Sharp Tune adopts a theme with red, white and back accents, showing the navigation controls on the left side and the playlist on the right.

Audio tracks cannot be added one at a time. Instead, you have to use the built-in file explorer from the "File" menu (or by pressing Ctrl+F) to find and choose a directory which contains all songs you want to listen to.

Playlists are automatically created this way, so you can check out the artist and track name of each file, along with its position in the playlist. Only basic navigation controls are available, giving you the possibility to pause and resume the song, play the previous or next track in the list, adjust the volume level, or seek a position.

There are no other special options available, so you can minimize Sharp Tune to the taskbar and carry on with your typical desktop activity while listening to songs. It worked smoothly in our tests on the latest Windows edition. Nevertheless, we hope that next updates will bring more features to the table.
