FreeDebks Portable

Made as the portable counterpart of FreeDebks, this is a simple-to-use piece of software that comes equipped with several handy components for double entry bookkeeping.

There is no setup pack involved, so you can drop the program files in any part of the hard drive and just click the executable to launch FreeDebks. Otherwise, you can save it to a pen drive or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.

Apart from this, it doesn't modify Windows registry settings like most installers, so it doesn't increase the risk of OS stability issues.

Wrapped in a classical window with a neatly organized structure, the app's interface can be clearly considered user-friendly. You can create a new project by editing bookkeeping properties in regard to the accounting label, currency, initial and final date, corporation name and logo, along with the accountant name.

Afterward, the tool automatically generates three separate tabs dedicated to the chart of accounts, journal, and results. From this point, you can add new lines with unique ID numbers, labels, signs, initial and current balance, as well as whether they exist on the balance sheet or not. Lines can be removed, copied or recomputed.

What's more, you can edit the company journal when it comes to the date, object, label, debit, debit account, credit, credit account, together with amount, as well as calculate various results, like profit or cash flow. The project can be saved to file and later resumed.

The tool didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the machine in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly. It had a good response time and didn't freeze, crash or prompt error messages.

Although it doesn't contain an impressive set of features or customization preferences, FreeDebks delivers a fast and simple solution to basic bookkeeping, and it can be easily used.
