Config2

Config2 is an application especially tailored for optimizing the duration of project development since it automates the source code generation procedure. This utility can create all the necessary source code needed for your team project on the spot, thus saving you a lot of time, energy and resources. This utility can create on the spot the necessary source code for a specific microcontroller from Silicon Laboratories as is supports over 40 device families.

The program comes with a rather rugged interface, but that is intuitive and unlikely to give you any troubles. The work area consists of a read-only text and it represents the configuration file for the project you are currently working on. Since the registers are all set to default, you should expect to preview a blank function when first launched. Then again, you can notice that the configuration file starts to get populated as soon as you add registers values from the Peripheral menu.

It is worth mentioning that when starting a new project, the default format for the code is C. In case you want to change it or perhaps prefer to assemble the code instead, then you can do so from the Options menu. At the same time, if you are working with larger devices, there is a chance that the I/O crossbar dialog cannot fit on screen as it is available in a large resolution. However, you can change all this from the View – Resolution menu.
