MuteActiveWindow, an AutoHotkey script, is a tool that allows you to mute the active window effortlessly. Inspired by Mute Current Application, this version is tailored for enhanced compatibility with various apps, including UWP applications.

Since this is a script, you will need to have AutoHotkey on your computer to run it. Moreover, it doesn’t have an interface and all the modifications need to be done via the configuration file. The default hotkey for muting is F1, but you can open the Hotkey.txt file and change it to another convenient key.

The script is flexible and allows you to exclusions, meaning that you can include certain apps to a list that are not going to be affected by it. The ExcludedApps.txt file from the Config folder is where you can add the apps, listing each one on a separate line. The accepted standard format is the executable of the file. For the changes to take effect, you need to reload the script or press the hotkey, in case it’s already running.
